Golden Acrylic Paint Tube Holder

Another paint tube holder...I've been using Golden Open Acrylics more and more (they dry very slow, which is an advantage for blending or just keeping workable paint on your palette). For a short time, I had a lot of Open tubes stored in a box. When I wanted a particular color, I'd have to go digging around every time. I got tired of that, so I built a holder that would fit in my workspace and be a lot more functional. Pretty simple but effective design...Cut three pieces of 2x4 so you can stagger in stair-step fashion three rows of paint tubes. Drill 7/8 in. diameter holes deep enough so that the cap sits deep into the bottom of the hole and the conical part of the tube sits just a hair above the wood. Then glue the three pieces together. That's it! For extra credit, I put white tape across the bottom of each tube and then brushed some paint from that tube on the white tape. This makes it easier to identify the colors for the 2nd and 3rd rows. Fortunately, this holder will work for either Golden Open Acrylics or the Golden regular heavy body acrylics.
